Nominations are now open for the Arizona Western College (AWC) Hall of Fame, which recognizes alumni, faculty, and community leaders from Yuma and La Paz counties who have made notable contributions to the college’s mission or achieved distinction in broader service.

The AWC Hall of Fame was created in 2011 and currently includes 33 honorees. Last year’s inductees were Maria Chavoya and Moses Camarena.

“We are excited to announce the AWC Hall of Fame nomination window is open for 2026!” said Gladys Anaya, Development Director for the AWC Foundation. “Each year, members of our community are invited to nominate individuals or teams whose lasting contributions have strengthened education and enriched our community. Yuma and La Paz counties are filled with remarkable people devoted to making our region an exceptional place to live and learn. We encourage everyone to once again recognize these inspiring leaders by submitting a nomination.”

The new group of inductees will be recognized at the Schoolhouse Soirée, the Foundation’s main fundraising event, scheduled for Friday, October 2.

Nominations can be submitted in four categories: students (eligible three years after leaving AWC), faculty or staff (eligible three years after separation or after ten years of active service), teams (academic or athletic teams that have won state or national championships), and community leaders (eligible after three years of significant support or service to AWC).

The deadline for nominations is Saturday, March 14. Submissions can be made online at https://foundation.azwestern.edu/hall-of-fame-nomination.
