Current and prospective students at Arizona Western College (AWC) are being encouraged to apply for scholarships offered by the AWC Foundation. The application period opens on February 15 and runs through April 1, with recipients to be announced by the end of May.

Gladys Anaya, Development Manager at the AWC Foundation, emphasized that applicants should share more than just academic achievements. “Bring your personality to the application, not just your grades,” said Anaya. “Many scholarships value your unique story and community impact just as much as—or more than—your GPA. Take just 40 minutes today to explore your options; you might be surprised by the thousands in funding waiting for you. Let’s find your match!”

The scholarships are open to students from all majors and backgrounds, regardless of grade point average. Applicants need only submit one general application to be considered for any relevant awards. For those scholarships requiring an essay, free writing assistance is available at the AWC Student Success Center. Additionally, essay-writing tips from Professor Ellen Riek can be found on the AWC Foundation Scholarship page under “Frequently Asked Questions.”

The foundation is also seeking volunteers to review scholarship applications during April. Those interested can contact foundation@azwestern.edu.

For more information about applying for scholarships or volunteering as a reviewer, individuals can reach out via email or phone at (928) 344-1720.
