Arizona Western College announced on March 16 that it will host the fifth annual AWC Enrollment Tour, an outreach initiative aimed at helping incoming Fall 2026 students and current high school seniors complete the college enrollment process.
The event is designed to support students as they transition from high school to college by providing hands-on assistance in areas such as admissions, orientation, course registration, financial aid, student resources, and support services. The goal of the tour is to make the process smoother for new students and help reduce what is known as “summer melt,” when students who intend to enroll do not ultimately attend college.
Biridiana Martinez, Director of Outreach, Recruitment and Early College program at Arizona Western College, said, “The Enrollment Tour is about more than enrollment, it’s about showing students that college is possible, accessible, and built for their success. When students see our team on their high school campus, ready to help every step of the way, they begin to envision themselves as Matadors and take confident steps toward their future at Arizona Western College.”
The tour uses a “meet students where they are” approach by bringing interactive and personalized experiences directly to each high school campus. This method allows AWC staff to tailor their support based on the unique culture and needs of each group of students.
According to Arizona Western College officials, the Enrollment Tour has become a key part of its outreach efforts by ensuring that prospective students feel welcomed and prepared for their first year. Students interested in participating or seeking more information are encouraged to contact their high school counselor or email Biridiana Martinez.
