AWC Community Band schedules Americana-themed concert for March 9

The Arizona Western College Community Band will hold its first concert of the spring semester on March 9. The performance, titled “Americana,” will feature music by American composers and aims to highlight traditional genres.

Selections include a march by John Philip Sousa, a suite of dances by Robert Russell Bennett, and a blues piece for concert band composed by Jack End. The event is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the 3C Schoening Conference Center on the AWC Yuma Campus.

Admission is free and open to all community members. Donations are welcome to support AWC music scholarships.
