The City of San Luis announced on June 4 the completion of its first concrete water storage tank at Well Site 7, a $4.1 million project aimed at improving local infrastructure.
The new two-million-gallon tank is expected to enhance water availability, fire protection, and overall system reliability for residents. The project was constructed over more than 342 days by Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc., with engineering services provided by CORE Engineering Group, PLLC.
Assistant Public Works Director Jorge Perez said, “This project represents more than just infrastructure; it’s about securing the quality of life for our residents. We are proud to have delivered this facility on time and with long-term sustainability in mind.”
The city designed the concrete tank for durability and low maintenance to meet growing demand as San Luis continues to expand and modernize its municipal water system. The city has grown from a small town into a thriving community in Arizona, according to the official website.
San Luis operates under a council-manager form of government and offers essential services such as public safety through police and fire departments, parks and recreation programs, economic development initiatives, and public works projects according to the official website. The city also promotes community engagement through open council meetings and public events according to the official website.
