The City of San Luis announced on Jan. 20 the launch of its Landscape Excellence Awards, a new program by the Parks and Recreation Department to recognize residents for their landscaping and beautification efforts.
The awards aim to encourage community members to enhance the city’s appearance and promote environmental stewardship. The initiative highlights the importance of green spaces and sustainability in San Luis, inviting residents to showcase creative landscaping that uses both native and non-native plants.
“We are excited to launch the Landscape Excellence Awards as a way to highlight and honor the incredible efforts of our residents in making San Luis a more beautiful place to live, work, and visit,” said Angelica Roldan, Director of Parks and Recreation. “We encourage everyone to participate by nominating deserving candidates who have made a visible impact in our community.”
Nominations are open to all households within city limits. Submissions can be entered online at sanluisaz.gov/LEA. A panel will evaluate entries based on curb appeal and plant selection, with one household selected from each side of town. Winners will receive a certificate, yard sign, and recognition on city platforms.
