The City of San Luis announced on June 25 that it has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The award recognizes the city’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024, marking the twelfth consecutive year San Luis has earned this distinction.
The certificate is considered the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment highlights a significant accomplishment by city management and demonstrates a commitment to transparency and accuracy in public finances.
Mayor Nieves Riedel said, “Our highly dedicated finance department has outdone themselves yet again. Thank you for ensuring true transparency with the city’s funding and remaining committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accuracy.”
An impartial panel reviews each report to ensure it meets program standards, including a constructive spirit of full disclosure. Residents are encouraged to read the latest Annual Comprehensive Financial Report by visiting sanluisaz.gov/DocumentCenter/View/13878/Fiscal-Year-2024-ACFR-.
