The 6th-Annual Desert Southwest Transfer Conference is scheduled for March 2-5 at Arizona Western College (AWC) in Yuma, Arizona. The event aims to assist students and alumni as they prepare to transfer to four-year universities.

Martha Cordova, AWC Director of Transfer Services, said, “The Desert Southwest Transfer Conference will provide students with the tools they need to succeed in their higher education journey. Don’t miss this opportunity for valuable insights and connections.”

The conference begins on Monday with the Yuma Transfer and Career Expo, offering information about higher education opportunities, job openings, and internships. Throughout the week, major university partners including Arizona State University, University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University will host sessions designed to introduce students to various academic programs and help them start their admissions process for Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.

Students are encouraged to participate in admissions workshops where they can meet university representatives and receive support tailored to their individual questions about transferring.

A special session titled “Helping Students Navigate Their Future Careers” will be presented by guest speaker Nicki Joiner on Wednesday, March 4. This session is intended to help attendees explore career options and develop strategies for achieving professional goals.

All events take place at the AWC Yuma Campus at 2020 S. Ave. 8E. Additional details about the schedule and registration can be found online at https://azwestern.edu/transferconference.
