Enrollment analysis: Multiracial students comprised 1.2% of Yuma County’s student body in 2025-26 school year

There were 440 multiracial students enrolled in Yuma County schools in the 2025-26 school year, a 0.2% increase over the 439 multiracial students in the previous school year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Yuma County enrolled 37,902 students at the time. Among them, multiracial students made up 1.2% of the student body making them the third most represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the 68 schools in Yuma County, Gila Ridge High School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2025-26 school year, with 48 students making up 2.2% of the school’s total enrollment.

Arizona ranks dead last in educational success among U.S. states, according to World Population Review, which graded states based on K–12 performance, funding, higher education, and safety.

Some data provided by the Arizona Department of Education may be incomplete due to the Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

Arizona Western College recently hosted over 70 fifth graders from James B. Rolle Elementary School for its semi-annual I’m Going to College event. Students experienced mock orientation sessions and mini classes designed to introduce them early on to higher education opportunities.
