Ashley DeCorse, a first-year student in Arizona Western College’s Radiology program, has been selected for the 2026 American Society of Radiologic Technologists Student to Leadership Development Program, according to a March 9 announcement.

The selection places DeCorse in a competitive three-year national program designed to help students move from clinical education into professional leadership roles. The program offers mentorship, leadership training, and full funding for participants to attend national networking events and educational sessions.

Director of Radiologic Technology Tracy Iversen said, “This is a prestigious honor, and notably, it marks the second consecutive year a student from AWC has been chosen for this competitive national program. This achievement is a testament to the caliber of our students and the strength of our medical imaging curriculum.”

During her time in the program, DeCorse will represent Arizona Western College at the national level while completing advanced leadership training through ASRT. She will also engage in advocacy planning and participate in professional case studies as part of her development.

Dr. Reetika Dhawan, Chief Executive Officer of Entrepreneurial College & Vice President of Workforce & Healthcare Programs, said, “This is truly a proud moment for Arizona Western College and a testament to the excellence of our Radiology Program. We look forward to seeing the positive impact Ashley will make in the medical imaging field.”

DeCorse’s participation highlights ongoing recognition for Arizona Western College’s radiology curriculum and its ability to prepare students for both clinical practice and future leadership opportunities.
