Arizona Western College announced on April 13 that members of the Yuma and La Paz communities are invited to attend candidate forums to meet the five finalists for Executive Vice President of the Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College. The forums will take place on April 16 and April 20 at the AWC Yuma Campus in Matador Activity Center room 106.

The forums offer an opportunity for community members, faculty, staff, and students to interact with candidates who may lead one of the college’s key divisions. Kathy Ocampo, Arizona Western College Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, said, “We had a great response to our posting to lead this remarkable arm of the college. We’re looking to build on the momentum of the last few years, to take our Workforce Development and Career Technology offerings to the next level. The next leader will chart a path for our faculty, staff and students while keeping us connected to the emerging trends in higher education and industry.”

On Thursday, April 16, three candidates will be introduced: Dr. Isaac Zúñiga from 7:30-8:30 a.m., Dr. Shadi Kilani from 2:00-3:00 p.m., and Dr. Shelley Pearson from 3:45-4:45 p.m. On Monday, April 20, two additional candidates will participate in sessions: Dr. David Campbell from 7:30-8:30 a.m., followed by Andrew Clegg from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

These public sessions are designed so attendees can learn about each candidate’s vision for advancing workforce development and career technology at Arizona Western College.

The selection process reflects ongoing efforts by Arizona Western College leadership to remain aligned with evolving trends in higher education while supporting local economic growth through workforce training initiatives.
