Rep. John Gillette, a Republican who has represented Arizona’s 30th House District since his election in 2023, used his Twitter account on January 16, 2026, to criticize Democratic lawmakers and recent legislative actions.
In a tweet posted at 14:46 UTC on January 16, Gillette commented on the conduct of Rep. Jayapal from Washington, stating: “Again another example of Jayapal , supporting illegals, radical islam and fraud.. the REP from Washington is going with AZ newest edition of ‘we told you so’ on 2026 Treason tour. They are fighting ICE… sworn federal law enforcement. The democrats are the enemy within.”
Later that day at 20:06 UTC, he addressed Democratic opposition to a bill he supported, writing: “The VETO Queen strikes again, the Democrats talk about affordability…… their actions say differently. This is a kick in the gut to seniors, small business and working parents!”
At 20:27 UTC on the same day, Gillette further elaborated on his criticism regarding the vetoed bill: “The bill was delivered, low to middle class incomes, no tax on tips, OT, child tax credit raise, childcare allowance, tax break for seniors.. VETOED. Her speech was a LIE.”
John Gillette began serving as state representative for Arizona’s House District 30 after being elected in 2023; he succeeded Christian Solorio in this role.
