Rep. John Gillette, a Republican who has represented Arizona’s 30th House District since his election in 2023, posted a series of tweets on September 7, 2025, addressing issues related to Islam and Muslim representation in government.

In one post from the afternoon of September 7, Gillette wrote: “If the Islamic Communist Zohran Kwame Mamdani is elected in NYC, NYC will look like this. The courts won’t call this an invasion until they are beheaded by the Islamic terrorist.” This tweet references Zohran Kwame Mamdani, a political figure in New York City.

Later that day, Gillette posted another message: “Send this anti-American terrorist back to shit hole he came from, if he is homegrown… protest their call to prayer.”

In an additional tweet that evening, Gillette stated: “I spoke about this a few months ago. We absolutely do not need a Muslim advisory anything in government. They support Shiria Law. CAIR is a front group for the Muslim brotherhood. Known terrorists organization.”

Gillette was elected to the Arizona State House in 2023 to represent District 30, succeeding Christian Solorio. He is affiliated with the Republican Party.
