San Luis announces availability of candidate packets for 2026 municipal elections

The City of San Luis announced on Jan. 5 that candidate packets for the upcoming 2026 municipal elections are now available at the City Clerk’s Office. Prospective candidates can pick up nomination and petition forms at 1090 East Union Street, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The filing period for these forms begins March 9, 2026, and ends April 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The upcoming election will determine four seats—one mayoral seat and three council member seats—for four-year terms expiring in December 2030. To qualify as a candidate, individuals must be United States citizens, at least eighteen years old, qualified electors of San Luis, residents of the city or annexed areas for at least one year prior to the election, able to speak, write, and read English as required by Arizona law (A.R.S. §38-201), and have no felony convictions unless civil rights have been restored.
