The City of San Luis announced on May 29 that it will hold a series of Conversations with Council events, starting June 7, to encourage direct dialogue between residents and elected officials.
The initiative aims to strengthen transparency and community engagement by providing an informal setting for residents to share their ideas, questions, and concerns. The city promotes community involvement through open council meetings and public events, according to the official website.
Unlike traditional public meetings, these gatherings will not have formal presentations or set agendas. Residents are invited to drop in at their convenience and speak directly with members of the San Luis City Council. Council Member Lizeth Servin said, “We want to hear from our community, your feedback is what helps shape our priorities and decisions.” Servin added, “These conversations are about listening, learning, and building stronger relationships with the people we serve.”
The first event is scheduled for June 7 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Eddie’s Food & Drink located at 4492 E. County 24th ½ Street in San Luis. To make participation easier for all residents, future sessions will be held on the first Saturday of each month at various locations throughout the city. Residents can also submit questions or comments in advance by visiting sanluisaz.gov/communityconnections.
The City of San Luis operates under a council-manager form of government and has grown from a small town into a thriving community in Arizona, according to the official website. The city is dedicated to providing essential services such as public safety through police and fire departments, parks and recreation programs, economic development initiatives, and public works projects as reported by the official website.
Nieves Riedel has served as mayor of San Luis according to the official website.
