San Luis opens candidate packet availability for upcoming municipal elections

Candidate packets for the 2026 municipal elections in San Luis, Arizona are now available for pickup at the City of San Luis Clerk’s Office, located at 1090 East Union Street. The office is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Nomination and petition forms may be filed starting March 9, 2026, due to the first day falling on a Saturday. The deadline for filing is April 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The upcoming election will fill four seats on the city council—one mayoral seat and three council member seats—for terms lasting until December 2030. Candidates must meet qualifications outlined in A.R.S. §9-232 by election time:

– United States citizenship
– At least eighteen years old
– Qualified elector of the City of San Luis
– Resident of San Luis or an annexed area for at least one year before the election
– Ability to speak, write, and read English as per A.R.S. §38-201
– No felony convictions unless civil rights have been restored
