On June 29, Gov. Doug Ducey (R-Arizona) paused Arizona's reopening as COVID-19 cases continued to climb.
While the debate over a face mask order continues to be debated, the Town of Parker took a step last week to comply with the governor's order.
The town’s council decided to close the splash pad at Pop Harvey Park. The splash pad will reopen when the order expires.
"We understand this is a valuable amenity to many town residents and we hope to be able to reopen as soon as possible,’’ a press release from the Town of Parker stated.
The press release asked residents to comply with the guidelines established by the governor’s office.
"We continue to urge residents to stay home as much as possible, socially distance and wear masks when you are in public places," the release stated.
The town council also reminded its residents to abide by CDC guidelines as well.
