State Rep. Mark Finchem (R-Tucson) hopes an independent study he just released will shed light on Arizona’s true COVID-19 condition.
Finchem requested for Anchor-Helm Decision Advisors, LLP, to conduct the study akin to the one the firm completed for the State of Tennessee.
“For months the media has emphasized the ‘explosion of new cases’ and ‘skyrocketing’ case count for individuals testing positive for the CCP Virus (COVID-19),” the lawmaker said on the Arizona House of Representatives’ website. “And for months, I have been asking why that is the focus when the vast majority (over 90%) of those testing positive are either asymptomatic, or mildly symptomatic requiring no medical care.”
He said the point of the analysis was to better understand the right figures since the outbreak has been exploited.

Finchem asserted that the Arizona Department of Health Services declined his request for data sets used to create the graphs and tables on the agency’s dashboard.
