City of San Luis issued the following announcement on Sept. 8
Government leaders from across Arizona gathered in Phoenix from August 31st to September 3rd, 2021, for the Arizona League of Cities and Towns 2021 Annual Conference.
The Annual Conference is the League’s signature event, a four-day meeting bringing together more than 1,000 Arizona mayors, council members, appointed officials and guests. The Annual Conference allows members and other municipal officials to share experiences and discuss current local, regional and national trends affecting their communities.
Among those in attendance were Council Member Matias Rosales and City Consultant Ralph Velez. Council Member Rosales represented the City of San Luis in various aspects, including the Resolutions Committee Meeting, where each city and town is urged to participate in the development of the League’s Municipal Policy Statement. He also served as the City of San Luis flag bearer during the League’s Parade of Flags. Additionally, he joined the Annual Business Meeting, held each year to elect members to the Executive Committee and to ratify the resolutions passed at the Resolutions Committee Meeting.
The Annual Conference concludes with the Showcase of Cities and Towns, a truly one of a kind 31-year-tradition, where cities and towns have the opportunity to attract tourists, showcase their products, and present what their communities are truly about. As it has become a tradition, the Gadsden School District Mariachi Band represented the City of San Luis during the event and entertained attendees by performing a variety of timeless mariachi songs. Council Member Matias Rosales and City staff attended to the City of San Luis’ booth.
“The Arizona League of Cities and Towns Annual Conference has allowed Arizona’s communities to come together to work toward one shared vision”, stated Council Member Matias Rosales. “I am glad to have been a part of this year’s conference and represent our great City of San Luis,” he added.
