On Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at approximately 12:29 PM, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle collision in the area of County 14th Street and Avenue 14½ E.
The initial investigation revealed a Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on County 14th Street and an EZ-GO golf cart was traveling eastbound on County 14th Street. For unknown reasons, the driver of the golf cart failed to yield and made a left turn in front of the Honda Odyssey. The golf cart was struck and came to a stop on its roof in a near embankment.
The driver of the golf cart, identified as Harold Hartman, 85, of Yuma, AZ, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin notification has been made.
This case remains under investigation at this time. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision.
