Government leaders from across Arizona gathered in Glendale from August 30tht to September 2nd, 2022, for the Arizona League of Cities and Towns 2022 Annual Conference.
The Annual Conference is the League’s signature event, a four-day meeting bringing together more than 1,000 Arizona mayors, council members, appointed officials and guests. The conference allows members and other municipal officials to share experiences and discuss current local, regional, and national trends affecting their communities.
Among those in attendance were Council Members Gloria Torres, Africa Luna-Carrasco, Jose Ponce, Luis Cabrera, Matias Rosales and Acting City Administrator Lizandro Galaviz, and City Staff. Council Member Luna-Carrasco served as the City of San Luis flag bearer during the League’s Parade of Flags.
The Annual Conference concludes with the Showcase of Cities and Towns, a truly one of a kind 32-year-tradition, where cities and towns can attract tourists, showcase their products, and present what their communities are truly about. As it has become a tradition, the Gadsden School District #32 Mariachi Band represented the City of San Luis during the event and entertained attendees by performing a variety of timeless mariachi songs. Members of Council and City staff attended to the City of San Luis’ booth.
