Yuma County’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program is coming to an end, DES will soon take over

The Yuma County Emergency Rental Assistance Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Treasury, is no longer accepting applications. Since its beginning, in March 2021 Yuma County has assisted more than 1,300 households’ county-wide keeping customers from being evicted or suffering utility disconnections. Over $9 million has been paid to landlords and utility providers on behalf of approved tenants ensuring housing stability for many Yuma County residents.

The Yuma County Grants Team is working on transferring this program to the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) where services will continue until funds from their program run out. Details of how and where to apply through DES will be available within the next two weeks.

To ensure the total number of applications submitted does not exceed the number of funds available in the program, Yuma County’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program stopped receiving new applications on October 27, 2022.  Any applications received by October 27, 2022, will continue to be processed until funds run out. Please note that having applied does not guarantee payment and is subject to funding availability.
