A groundbreaking ceremony for Yuma County’s Foothills Multipurpose Complex project was held this morning outside of the Yuma County Foothills Library Branch.

The project involves developing the land adjacent to the Foothills Library into a family-friendly space with a grassy area, a walking pathway, a ramada with picnic tables, a children’s playground, and an asphalt parking lot. The planned phases include a restroom facility, additional walking paths and a pet area.

This million-dollar project is funded by the Arizona State Parks and Trails in collaboration with Yuma County
