"Hi it's me, I'm the problem, it's me..." while we appreciate Taylor Swift singing she was the problem, we would appreciate it more if you would remain on the line when accidentally dialing 911.
Anytime someone from a household calls 911, whether it's accidental, an emergency or not, an officer is dispatched to the residence to ensure there isn't an emergency. Yes, even if you hang up before one of our dispatchers can answer.
This takes precious time out of our officer's day, where they could be handling more important calls.
So remember, the next time you accidentally dial 911, please stay on the line and let us know there isn't a problem.
