How many students were enrolled in Gadsden Elementary District schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 4,955 students enrolled in Gadsden Elementary District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.7% less than the 5,040 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.8% of them were boys, and 49.2% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were Latino, representing 99.5% of the Gadsden Elementary District total enrollment.

Gadsden Elementary District roughly covers schools within Yuma County and has a main office in San Luis.

Among the eight schools in Gadsden Elementary District, Desert View Elementary recorded the highest enrollment of 758 students in the 2022-23 school year.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.
