Yuma County recently celebrated its employees' achievements and contributions at various events, as highlighted in the YuCount Newsletter for May 2024.

County Administrator Ian McGaughey expressed his gratitude towards the employees who participated in the employee appreciation events, stating, "Awesome people, excellent food and drinks, great music – good times for sure." He also acknowledged the winners of different categories, including employees reaching service milestones and recipients of special awards like the Chairman's Cup.

Regarding the retirement of Deputy Clerk of the Board / Executive Assistant Christy Isbell after 35 years of service, a tribute was paid to her dedication and diligence in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of agendas for Board of Supervisors meetings.

In the spotlight was Probation Officer Danielle Madrill, recognized for her outstanding work and professional rapport with clients. She shared insights into her daily routine and aspirations, showcasing her commitment to making a positive impact in her role.

Yuma County's Financial Services Department received the highest financial reporting accolade for the 22nd consecutive year from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The department was commended for its excellence in financial reporting and transparency, demonstrating a commitment to accountability and fiscal responsibility.

The YuCount Newsletter also featured the Yuma County Free Library District's recent events, such as a successful Solar Eclipse viewing program and a presentation on online resources by the Arizona State Library during Staff Training Day.

The newsletter further highlighted upcoming virtual author talks, including sessions with authors Douglas Brunt, Nina Simon, and R.F. Kuang, providing an opportunity for community engagement and literary enrichment.

In addition to celebrating achievements, the newsletter announced new hires and promotions across various departments within Yuma County, recognizing individuals for their dedication and advancement within the organization.
