Yuma County, Arizona officials have announced a traffic control plan for Main Street to accommodate crucial infrastructure work. The area marked in green cross-hatch on the map of Main Street will be temporarily closed to traffic from early Monday, May 13, 2024, through the end of the day on Friday, May 17, 2024.

The closure is necessitated by the need to connect the new Administration building's sewer and water lines at Main Street. To ensure safety during this period, fencing and barricades will be strategically placed around the closed area.

Despite the temporary closure, access to and from the east City parking lots to County facilities on Main Street will remain operational. Furthermore, the tunnel will stay open and all sidewalks in the area will be accessible. This arrangement ensures minimal disruption to pedestrian traffic.

Yuma County extends its appreciation for residents' understanding and cooperation during this period of essential infrastructure improvement. For further information or inquiries regarding this matter, please contact David Hylland at (928) 304-0481.
