Yuma County, Arizona—All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on the tax increase scheduled for June 24, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., at the Board of Supervisors Auditorium, 198 S. Main Street, Yuma, Arizona.

In compliance with section 42-17107 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, Yuma County is notifying its property taxpayers of its intention to raise primary property taxes over last year’s level. The county is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $765,991 or 2.06%. For example, this proposed tax increase will cause Yuma County’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $242.06 (total proposed taxes including the tax increase). Without the proposed tax increase, total taxes owed on a $100,000 home would have been $237.17.

This proposed increase excludes increased primary property taxes received from new construction and any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter-approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

In compliance with section 48-254 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, Yuma County Library District is notifying its property taxpayers of its intention to raise secondary property taxes over last year’s level. The district is proposing an increase in secondary property taxes of $328,953 or 3.13%. For example, this proposed tax increase will cause Yuma County Library District’s secondary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $69.23. Without the proposed tax increase, total taxes owed on a $100,000 home would have been $67.13.

This proposed increase excludes increased secondary property taxes received from new construction and any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter-approved bonded indebtedness.

Additionally complying with section 48-254 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, Yuma County Flood District is notifying its property taxpayers of its intention to raise secondary property taxes over last year’s level. The district proposes an increase in secondary property taxes of $122,655 or 3.80%. For example, this proposed tax increase will cause Yuma County Flood District’s secondary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $24.87. Without the proposed tax increase, total taxes owed on a $100,000 home would have been $23.96.

This proposed increase also excludes increased secondary property taxes received from new construction and any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter-approved bonded indebtedness.

Questions may be directed to Tony Struck of the Yuma County Budget Office at 928-373-1108.
