During November, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents from the Yuma Sector arrested 1,600 migrants from 37 countries. This information was shared in a December 3 post on X by the chief patrol agent of the sector.
According to the post, in addition to the arrests, CBP agents disrupted 11 human smuggling cases, intercepted four drug smuggling incidents, rescued three individuals, and responded to two emergency calls.
The Yuma Sector covers 181,670 square miles of desert between California and Arizona and includes 126 miles of the U.S. border stretching from the Imperial Sand Dunes to the Yuma-Pima County Line. Over the past two decades, this sector has doubled in size since its establishment in 2004. It encompasses three border stations: Blythe in California and two others in Arizona—Yuma and Wellton.
