U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar won Arizona's Fourth District primary election on Aug. 4 with 62% of the vote.

He is a current member of the House of Representatives after being elected in 2011, according to Ballotpedia. His term is set to end on Jan. 3, 2021, but he is running for re-election in the congressional district.

Gosar defeated his rival Republican running mate Anne Marie Ward, who received 30% of the vote, The Hill reported. He will be facing Democrat nominee Delina DiSanto, a registered nurse, in the November general election.

After winning the 2018 election by approximately 40 points, he's expected to be the favorite in this election.

Gosar has been elected to Arizona's Fourth Congressional District and its First Congressional District after relocating districts in 2012, according to Ballotpedia. He is also a member and chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus in the 115th Congress.

Before running for the U.S. House of Representatives, Gosar was a practiced dentist for 25 years.

He has been self quarantining this year after being exposed to someone at the Conservative Political Action Conference who had tested positive for COVID-19, according to Ballotpedia.
