Yuma County districts: Latino students were the most represented ethnicity in 2021-22 school year

The majority of students in Yuma County districts were Latino in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Of the 37,757 students attending school districts within Yuma County, 86.0% were Latino. White students were the second largest ethnicity in Yuma County districts (10.9%).

In the previous school year, Latino students still were the most common group in Yuma County districts, representing 83.4% of the student body.

Yuma Union High School District had the most even distribution of races among county districts, which included 71.7% Latino students and 26.3% white students.

In the 2021-22 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county increased 1.3% when compared to the previous year.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Yuma County.
